Al Salt was announced to be the first place winner at an inter cities contest. The completion was designed to determine which city in Jordan deserve to be known as the cleanest .Results were out on March 5th 2003 whereby the City of Al Salt which is part of the Al Balka'a District was granted a certificate of recognition attributed to this rightfully deserved title.
