Grumpy Gourmet:
3rd Annual Plate Presentation Award Ceremony


On March 20th 2001 the Grumpy Gourmet held its third annual Plate Presentation Awards Ceremony .The event was held at the Regency Hotel /Amman.

A large number of Jordan’s top chefs participated in the event .They competed for the production of the most esthetically pleasing dish in the country The first place winner of the competition was Chef Abdullah Hamdan from La Cucina restaurant.

Many other chefs received honorary prizes for their efforts .Our team was able to provide a full coverage of the event.

  The Grumpy Gourmet team objectively evaluates Jordan’s top restaurants . They do this by making under cover visits to the varies five star restaurants in the country. They are served as regular customers and they leave as regular customers refusing to be recognized or to receive special treatment . Their evaluation is based upon a set questionnaire designed by Switzerland’s top hotel and catering schools. The questionnaire is designed to evaluate the restaurant according to the following criteria ,Service ,food and beverage quality ,cleanliness and hygiene ,atmosphere, value for money , safety ,and creativity. Based on their evaluation the Grumpy Gourmet publishes an annual list of the top ten restaurants in the country .This list is aimed at creating a healthy competitive environment in the restaurant business.
