Life & Wok of Michelangelo
A lecture was conducted at Darat Al Funun on the 26th of April 2001.The
lecture dealt with the life and works of Michelangelo. Michelangelo is
said to be one of the greatest artists of all times. His name has become
synonymous with the word "Masterpiece".

Michelangelo was born on March 6th 1475 in the small village of Caprese.At the age of 13 Michelangelo agreed to work as an apprentice to the artist Dominica Ghirtandeo.From that point on he studied in the school of sculpture of the Medici gardens. During his study Michelangelo met with many humanists and it was then that his career as an artist began. Michelangelo is known for his innovative study of anatomy and his artistic rends that were known to divert from the norms of the time.The lecture showcased some of Michelangelo's works as case studies His use of medium and color were described in great detail. The lecture was accompanied by musical applications and was followed by a film entitled "Masterpieces Of Italian Art'. Our team provides a full coverage of the event. |
