This conference continues previous efforts exerted by the first Arab Women and delegations in previous summits and forums. Beginning with the first Summit and followed by a sequence of forums; Arab Women and Law (Manama), Arab Women and Politics (Tunisia), Arab Women Abroad (Amman), Arab Women and the Media (Abu Dhabi), Arab Women and Economics (Kuwait). Such gatherings contributed to consolidating and shaping related principles and formulating directives that led to the development of the strategy for Arab Women.

This conference comes at a critical stage, where Arab countries are facing vicious attacks, violations of human rights, and conflicts. Within this bitter reality women are the primary victims and the most affected. This requires all forms of support for progressive development within the challenges in the Arab World.
